Geneva-- Tom Reed continues his “Working and Listening” tour while packaging green beans for you and your family.  “We need to take care of our families,” said Tom Reed.  “Providing food and care for our loved ones is only possible if we can create family sustaining jobs here at home.  What better way to understand our industries than to roll up our sleeves, get to work, and talk with people already holding those jobs?  I want to create fair solutions for our families and that means being accessible to their needs and hearing their concerns."

Tom Reed visited one of Seneca Foods Corporation’s plants on Friday, September 16th to learn more about their employees and to better understand the industry's struggles especially with this summer's drought.

“Tom Reed is out in our communities working to understand the needs of our families,” said Amy Hasenberg, Tom Reed for Congress Spokeswoman. “Obama's harmful regulations have hurt our economy, and now this drought is adding a new struggle.  Tom is working hard to bring resources to our communities, which are suffering from the drought.  This is Tom’s home, and he is fighting for more job opportunities for our current and future generations.” continued Hasenberg.

Corning, NY- The Reed campaign calls out John Plumb for doubling down on sexist attacks on the Reed family.  "John Plumb has continued his unfair attacks, but this time he is targeting women in business and Tom's family," stated Amy Hasenberg, Tom Reed for Congress Spokeswoman. John Plumb is so desperate to gain political points that he is attacking Mrs. Reed's business.

"Plumb’s words could only be viewed as sexist since the undertones were that Mrs. Reed cannot generate her own source of income to provide for her family," continued Hasenberg. "This is completely untrue and it is unfair to all women. John Plumb is using sexist attacks for purely political purposes--he doesn't care who he offends as long as he gains political capital."

"Tom is standing up for all women and all groups who are being unfairly marginalized by these offensive views,” continued Hasenberg.

"As the owner of the Parkview Restaurant, I know how hard it is to run a business.  It makes me very proud to see Tom Reed standing up for women in business," stated Beth Johnson, owner of Owego's Parkview Restaurant.

“I am proud to see Tom Reed standing up for his wife and female business owners like me.  He cares about businesses here in New York and he is standing up for us," said Cathy Crandall, Vice President of Crandall's Memorials (Olean, NY).

PLUMB REFUSES TO ANSWER

Reed Campaign Releases TV Ad

Corning, NY- In its new television ad, the Reed campaign is slamming DC John Plumb for refusing to be open with voters. “DC John Plumb continues to follow the ‘Washington Way’ by deliberately failing to answer questions that impact our families and it is not fair to American voters,” said Amy Hasenberg, Tom Reed for Congress Spokeswoman.

“We deserve to know who DC John Plumb really is, but he fails to answer even the most simple questions about his positions,” continued Hasenberg.  “Tom has a proven record of standing with our communities here in New York.  He cares about our families, and will keep fighting for us. Tom is dedicated to our communities, but John Plumb won't even commit to living here after November.”

Amo Houghton. “Tom, as many know, is an exceptional representative," said Houghton, "[Tom] works hard; he cares for the feelings and interests of those of us in this area. In my estimation, he ranks among the top ten percent of all Congressmen in just sheer effectiveness."

"I am honored to receive Amo's endorsement," stated Tom Reed. "Amo is the leader we needed and still need for Western New York. A true gentleman and champion devoted to our area.  I am humbled by his confidence in me and I am excited to continue following in his footsteps by always fighting for fair legislation that puts New York first."

Corning, NY- The Reed campaign calls out DC John Plumb after refusing to commit to living in New York State.  "DC John Plumb just moved to New York last year to further his political career,  yet he refuses to commit to living in New York after November 8th," said Amy Hasenberg, Tom Reed for Congress Spokeswoman.  “Why is Plumb refusing to commit to living in New York? Clearly, DC John Plumb does not care about our communities. This is just another example of John Plumb choosing Washington over New York."

In an interview with TWC’s State of Politics, DC John Plumb was directly asked if he would stay in New York State. He hesitated, and when he did answer, he still could not commit. Plumb currently resides in a home he designated as his "secondary residence"  which he moved to after Nancy Pelosi handpicked him to run for Congress. Prior to running for Congress, Plumb lived in Washington, DC working as a civilian for political causes.

"Tom grew up here in Corning and he lives in the same house his mother raised him in after his father died. Tom is fighting for New York because our families are his top priority," continued Hasenberg.  "Plumb is only willing to live here for political gain and when that is gone, so is he.  That is not fair to our families."

Corning NY-Reed remembers 9/11, fights to stop this pain from ever returning. "Terrorism shook our nation 15 years ago today," said Tom Reed. "I remember exactly where I was, what I was doing, and what I felt. This pain is something I don't want our family or our kids to ever feel again. It is only fair we unite together to stop global terrorism."

“I care deeply about ensuring the safety of our families and our communities.  We must stand together and fight to protect our nation from ever experiencing another devastating attack," continued Reed. "We will never forget 9/11, or the lives lost. I hope everyone will take a moment of silence to remember those we lost 15 years ago in the Pentagon, the Twin Towers, on the hijacked planes, and the first responders who gave their lives to try to save others."

Falconer, NY--Tom Reed is keeping Western New York's manufacturing tradition alive and thriving.  "Manufacturing is part of our history here in New York, and I want to ensure it is in our future. We can be manufacturing leaders again," said Tom Reed. "Businesses right here at home like Weber Knapp in Falconer and Southerntier Custom Fabricators in Elmira are creating real, family sustaining jobs that fuel our economy. Local manufacturers are the reason I wrote and fought to have RAMI--the Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovations Act--passed into law."

While touring Weber Knapp, President/CEO/Co- owner Rex McCray updated Tom about the company’s progress over the last few years.  McCray elaborated on how Tom's efforts have been essential to both his and other businesses' success.

"Tom has been a man of his word fighting for manufacturing and jobs in our area," said Rex McCray,President/CEO/Co- owner. "Tom has made himself accessible to listen to what we care about. He's shown this by writing RAMI, by opposing TPP because it doesn't address intellectual property rights, and by working on real tax reform. I am proud to personally support Tom Reed."

“People like Obama and Clinton are harming our economies and making it difficult for our businesses to advance," stated Amy Hasenberg, Tom Reed for Congress Spokeswoman. "DC John Plumb has already promised to continue these job killing policies, but that's not fair. Tom will put New York first."
