It's All About the Jobs

Eric Cantor, the House Minority Whip said it correctly when he said "it's about jobs!"  With record numbers of people leaving upstate New York we know more than most that we need to stimulate private job growth.

Job creation must be encouraged through incentives and benefits for employers. (Not new fees and taxes) as well as leveling the playing field for American businesses. Small businesses employ about half of all Americans, yet they can be subject to tax rates that siphon away one-third or more of their income. House Republicans propose to allow small business to take a tax deduction equal to 20% of their income. This will immediately free up funds for small businesses to retain and hire new employees.

Upstate New York must be a particular focus for both those in Washington. We have abundant natural resources, outstanding higher education, and a geographically favorable location for business.

As a successful small businessman, I understand the challenges of meeting a payroll and living on a budget. The real way to encourage jobs is to return more of the people's money.  We need to encourage entrepreneurs and allow them to create jobs and put their great ideas to work.  That's what America is all about. The government has to get out of the way.
