29th Congressional District Republican County Chairs Unite in Support of Tom Reed
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"I'm thankful for the vote of confidence that this unanimous support from local leaders represents,"Reed commented. "Each of these counties is a unique and valued part of the 29th district, so to be able to bring the leadership of these counties together this early in a campaign shows that we have a great chance of taking this district back for the people of Western New York. With the party unified we can focus on spreading our positive message of job growth and fiscal responsibility to Republican, Democrat and independent voters alike.
Republican Chairs Rob Christman (Allegany), Paula Snyder (Cattaraugus), Mike Krusen (Chemung), Bill Reilich (Monroe), Jay Dutcher (Ontario), Phil Barnes (Schuyler), Bill Hatch (Steuben), and Rob Schwarting (Yates), have each personally endorsed Reed in his challenge to Massa.
Reed's organizational support extends to the national level as well. He is one of several Republican "Young Guns" identified by the National Republican Campaign Committee.
"To have this level of agreement among the eight counties says a lot about who Tom Reed is," said Steuben County Republican Bill Hatch. "Tom is one of us. He connects well with people from all walks of life. That was obvious to my fellow chairs as they came to the same conclusion that he is the right person to run in the 29th District. We are behind him all the way."
"We as chairs wanted to make sure Tom had an early start and early support," added Monroe County Republican Chairman Bill Reilich. "This will be a tough race, but we have been overwhelmed by positive feedback, even from local Democrats, since Tom announced."
The 29th district spans all of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Yates counties, as well as large parts of Ontario and Monroe counties. Reed is currently the mayor of the City of Corning and has been an attorney in private practice in Corning for 10 years. He also owns four businesses: Fritz-Klee Holdings, LLC, Fritz-Klee Realty, CT Associates and the Windsor Heights Golf Course. Raised in Corning, Reed is a graduate of Horseheads High School, Alfred University and Ohio Northern University College of Law.
