FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Republican Congressional candidate Tom Reed yesterday filed disclosure reports with the Federal
Election Commission showing that his campaign had taken in approximately $482,000 since he
announced his candidacy and had approximately $287,000 on hand as of March 31. The campaign has
raised more than $30,000 in the last two weeks and currently has more than $300,000 cash on hand. The
overwhelming majority of Reed’s financial support has come from within the 29th Congressional District.

“People across the district have supported us with contributions as low as five dollars,” Reed observed.
“It’s humbling how much people believe in this campaign to bring some sanity to Washington. This is an
overwhelmingly rural district that has been hit harder than most by the recession. When we started the
campaign, people said that for someone like me, from a small town without much political experience
even raising $200,000 would be nearly impossible. To see people stepping up with financial and volunteer
support is proving those experts wrong and inspires us to keep moving forward.”

“As the Democratic politics in Washington and Albany continue to keep the 660,000 people of the 29th
district without a voice in their financial future, I again wonder why our voice isn’t as important as those
in California or Florida?” Reed asked. “Why isn’t our voice as important as those in other parts of New
York? Perhaps someday the idea of democracy will be respected and we’ll have an election and have
someone represent this district in Congress.”
