Demonstrates Strong Support on Three Party Lines

Tom Reed has announced that more than 820 pages of petitions will be filed this week with the New York State Board of Elections in Albany to qualify Reed as a candidate for the 29th Congressional District on the Republican, Independence, and Conservative Party lines of the ballot. More than 10,500 voters, almost five times the minimum number of signatures required to qualify, signed the designating petitions.

“I am overwhelmed by the amount of support this demonstrates,” Reed said of the petition effort. “I am grateful that so many people from each of the parties took time to do this to ensure that we would qualify for the ballot.”

“The frustration with Washington leadership is running very deep throughout the district,” Reed continued. “So many people from all walks of life agree that we need to stop the endless power grab and unchecked spending going on in Washington. They signed for us to be their voice, which is both humbling and energizing.”

“Filing this number of signatures is a real validation that voters are tired of the accounting shenanigans and public relations games being played by the leadership and the White House,” Reed concluded. “In less than four months this district will finally have a voice in the House of Representatives that will loudly call for restraint and common sense in Washington.”
