First Year of Campaign Raises Over $686,000

Earlier today, Republican, Conservative and Independence Party Congressional candidate Tom
Reed filed campaign finance disclosure reports with the Federal Election Commission in
Washington and nominating petitions with the New York State Board of Elections in Albany. With
the filings, the Reed campaign reached one full year of effort.

The financial disclosures showed that Reed for Congress has raised more than $686,000 since Reed
declared his candidacy against then-Congressman Eric Massa on July 1, 2009. The campaign held
more than one dozen fund raising events in the 29th Congressional District during the 2nd quarter of
2010. Individual contributions came in amounts as low as $5.

“Thursday symbolized show how frustrated people of this district are,” Reed observed. “This strong
fund raising report filed with the FEC and the nearly 11,000 signatures on nominating petitions filed
with the Board of Election s on the same day both demonstrate how far we have come and how
motivated people are to change Washington. This is our first run for full-time office. When we
began the campaign last July, the so-called experts said we would never get the volunteer support
we need outside of Corning or raise $200,000, let alone over $686,000.”

“Every day this movement to control spending and stand up to those expanding government,” Reed
continued. “Every day we earn more contributors and volunteers in the 29th district. We are in this
position due to the volunteer time and financial support given by literally thousands of people
across the district. They are the true strength in our campaign. Their voice will be heard in
Washington.”
