Reed Attributes Victory To Volunteers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Statement from Tom Reed on being elected to represent New York’s 29th District in the House of
Representatives”
“This is the end of a long road and the beginning of another one! Sixteen months ago we started this
campaign – because we were concerned about an American bankruptcy and the crushing debt burden
being put upon our children and grandchildren.
The circumstances of the campaign changed, but we never changed. We have stayed consistent with a
message of limited government, stopping the borrowing and spending, and creating an environment in
which jobs can be created. That message resonated with voters from Gowanda to Van Etten, from
Wellsville to Henrietta.
I want to thank the hundreds of volunteers that worked for this campaign. From day one, so many people
gave of their time and talent to make this success possible. This victory really belongs to them. I also
want to thank my wife Jean, my children Autumn and Will, and my brothers and sisters for their
unwavering support throughout the campaign.
I am very humbled by the opportunity to serve as your next Congressman. I will hit the ground running to
complete this unexpired term and I will not let you down.
As we crisscrossed the district countless times since July 1, 2009, we listened and heard the real concerns
that people have about the economy and how our government must learn to live within its means.
Now we’re going to take that message on to Washington. Given some the results we’ve seen tonight from
around the country, we won’t be the only ones. Don’t stop believing that better days are ahead.”
